ABOUT TechExchange
TechExchange was founded in 2023 to address an urgent need: enabling Ukrainian defence and dual-use technologies — developed under wartime conditions — to engage with the UK’s policy, industrial and investment ecosystems.
In its early phase, the focus was on access. TechExchange worked closely with Ukrainian and British companies to open pathways into the UK market, support fundraising, and enable in-field testing of technologies operating on the front lines.
As cooperation between the UK and Ukraine deepened, this role expanded. TechExchange became a platform for facilitating commercial pathways and strengthening ties between two rapidly evolving defence ecosystems — helping technologies that save lives scale beyond Ukraine and into allied markets.
Today, Ukrainian innovation is no longer emerging — it is established, operational and continuously evolving under real-world conditions. The challenge is no longer access alone, but how these lessons are understood, adapted and applied within the UK’s own systems.
TechExchange’s role has evolved accordingly. Today, TechExchange focuses on translating frontline experience into practical application — helping the UK understand and integrate lessons from modern warfare across defence, critical infrastructure and public safety.
The impact of technologies emerging from Ukraine today, extends far beyond — informing how governments, industries and institutions prepare for a rapidly changing threat landscape. TechExchange now operates as a platform for structured exchange between Ukraine’s battlefield experience and the UK’s institutional systems.
Ukrainian innovators gain access to relevant stakeholders, while UK institutions gain direct exposure to operationally proven technologies and the insights behind them. This exchange enables faster learning, more effective collaboration, and a stronger foundation for resilience, capability and long-term security.
