Andriy Dovbenko, the founder of UK-Ukraine TechExchange, attended the annual defence forum organised by our partners Strategy Council. The forum held at the Royal United Services Institute in London, centred around the theme of ‘Financing Ukraine’s Victory: Access to capital and scaling defence technologies’.
Vadym Burukin, Co-founder and COO of Huless, and Pavlo Shevchuk, CEO of Skyeton - members of the UK-Ukraine TechExchange network - took part in a panel discussion that showcased Ukraine'’s leading military tech companies and the latest technological solutions being used on the frontline. This included autonomous systems, counter-drone tech, electronic warfare, and tactical communication systems.
A session on financing scalability and the role of venture capital in developing the ecosystem gave valuable insight into how we can drive and accelerate MilTech advancements through VC investment. Prominent VCs such as Vojta Rocek from Presto Ventures, a Prague-based VC, spoke about how we can incentivise private capital investment for promising defence tech companies and the role of dual-use applications in alleviating investor concerns around defence.
